Last week we had a ride to Combe Haven Valley, north of Bexhill. It is difficult to believe that a new road has been agreed at this location, estimated to bring 23,000 vehicles a day. Construction of the environmentally damaging Bexhill Hastings Link Road (an East Sussex County Council project) is planned for January 2013. Combe Haven Defenders are a new group dedicated to stopping the road.  They are running a “Walk, Eat, Draw” event, meeting at Crowhurst Station at 11am on Saturday 24 November. They say: “We are calling for 1,066 people to pledge to join the ‘Second Battle of Hastings’ to support our campaign and peacefully resist the construction of the road.” See:
